First we went to the emblematic Bodegas Torres, a very complete visit; where we learned about their history, they explained the process of making some of their wines, we visited their facilities and their wineries. To finish we made a pairing of four of their wines with different cheeses and the combination was spectacular.
Then we went to Pontons, a municipality of 400 inhabitants in the middle of the mountains that contrasts with the flat landscape of the Vilafranca area, it is reached by a road that follows the course of the Foix River.
A very quiet town, where little light pollution, allows you to enjoy the starry sky. We slept in the rural hotel El Molí de Pontons. They have beautiful suites and also rural apartments, precisely we were in one of them, where the combination of original materials (stone and beams) with the new elements give them warmth and modernity. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel’s own restaurant, and I have to admit that you eat very well.
At night all was silence, we took a night walk to the hill where the church of Santa Magdalena is located. The next morning, we were able to enjoy a beautiful sunrise in the middle of the mountains.
